Date: 7th June 2001 Headline Band: Yngwie Malmsteen Support Bands: Spirit Of Roche Venue: Mean Fiddler Comments: The first note about this gig was the extortionate cost of the T-shirts. At 20 pounds a go for mediocre shirts I decided to give them a miss. However, both acts did not fail to impress. Spirit Of Roche was first up. They gave a pretty respectable performance, including an impressive drum solo. Yngwie Malmsteen and co' then came on and promptly demonstrated why Malmsteen is known as a 'guitar god'. The guitar skills certainly were impressive, with vocalist Michael Viscera (I'm not sure about the name) giving a decent performance. In addition to the songs, there were also mightily impressive guitar and drum solos, and a reasonable bass guitar solo. A great gig overall.
